This project on Terragales Avenue, Pollokshields involved transforming a tired and deteriorating patio area into a luxury outdoor space designed to complement the character of the property. The existing paving and steps had become worn and structurally unsafe over time, leaving the client looking for a long-lasting solution that would retain the traditional sandstone appearance of the home without the ongoing maintenance associated with natural stone.
To achieve this, we designed and installed a bespoke sandstone-effect porcelain patio using Rustique Porcelain from Paving Stones Direct. The project also included a complete rebuild of the existing steps, extensive groundwork, and carefully planned curved detailing to create a softer and more premium finish throughout the garden space.
The completed transformation has completely revitalised the outdoor area, creating a stunning patio space that blends seamlessly with the traditional sandstone property. The new porcelain paving delivers the timeless appearance of natural stone while providing a highly durable, low-maintenance finish built to withstand the Scottish climate.

Before installation could begin, extensive groundwork and structural preparation were required. The existing walls and steps had significantly deteriorated, so the entire area needed to be stabilised and re-levelled to create a safe and durable foundation for the new patio. Our team carefully carried out all excavation, preparation, and structural improvements to ensure the finished installation would remain secure and long-lasting for years to come.
For the patio itself, we installed Rustique sandstone-effect porcelain paving supplied by Paving Stones Direct. This material was specifically chosen to complement the tones of the existing sandstone property while providing a cleaner and more contemporary finish with minimal maintenance requirements. The layout incorporated bespoke curved detailing to soften the appearance of the patio and create a more elegant flow throughout the outdoor space.
One of the standout features of the project was the complete rebuild of the garden steps. Reconstructed from the ground up, the new steps were designed to integrate seamlessly with the porcelain patio while remaining sympathetic to the style of the property.
