Project Overview

This project on Bellevue Road, Kirkintilloch involved transforming a worn gravel access lane into a premium block paving driveway designed to improve both the appearance and practicality of the property. Due to the long and narrow layout of the access route, the project required careful planning, specialist groundwork, and precise installation methods to achieve a durable and visually impressive finish.

The client was looking for a long-lasting, low-maintenance driveway that would enhance the kerb appeal of the property while also addressing existing ground level differences with the neighbouring area. To achieve this, we carried out extensive preparation works before installing Tobermore Shannon Heather block paving with a charcoal picture frame border and Tobermore Rumble kerbstone edging for a premium final appearance.

Our Solution

The completed driveway has completely transformed the entrance to the property, replacing the outdated gravel surface with a clean, modern, and highly durable block paving installation. The combination of Tobermore Shannon Heather blocks and charcoal border detailing creates a timeless finish that complements the surrounding property while adding a high-end feel throughout.

With strong structural groundwork completed beneath the surface, the driveway has been built for long-term performance and stability. The finished installation not only improves accessibility and functionality but also significantly enhances the overall kerb appeal and value of the home.

Project Details

Before the installation could begin, extensive groundwork and site preparation were required due to the restricted access conditions and varying ground levels across the property. Approximately 40 tonnes of waste material were removed from site, with all machinery and materials carefully managed within the narrow access area. To address the level difference between neighbouring properties, our team also constructed a new underground retaining wall to provide long-term structural support and stability.

Once the groundwork was completed, we carried out a full excavation and installed a high-quality sub-base with professional compaction to ensure maximum strength and durability. The driveway was then finished using Tobermore Shannon Heather block paving, creating a clean and attractive surface designed to withstand daily use and the Scottish climate.

To further elevate the design, we incorporated a charcoal picture frame border around the driveway along with Tobermore Rumble kerbstone edging. These finishing touches helped create a defined, premium appearance while tying the entire installation together. As a Tobermore Approved Installer, all materials and workmanship were completed to strict manufacturer standards, ensuring a high-quality result built to last for years to come.
